Some strive for perfection, others strive to maintain it. Then there’s Little Dragon, the band who embodies that whole perfection jive. Amongst a sold out crowd, I’m fortunate to have witnessed the talents and auras that is Little Dragon. Exhilaration took over my emotions as they took the stage. I’m convinced that this has been among the highlights of my 2011. Some things come into your life at a perfect time, sans coincidences, since they really don’t exist anymore. Timing is everything and Little Dragon is just that: on time, in tune, and outrageously great at what they do. Probably one of the best live bands that I’ve seen in a minute. At no surprise, I was moved on how much they sound and play like their records, never missing a beat. The band’s chemistry is impressive, as they all take you on their own little journeys in the mind. And, if marrying a voice was ever physically possible, I would give Yukimi’s a fat diamond right on that C-Note of hers. Last night was true beauty exemplified through music and dance.
I get the pleasure of spinning the tunes beyond my time, for the folks of Honolulu, Hawaii. It’s gonna be the best night of my life (for this week, at least)
To make things even more humbling, I am joined by one of the West Coast’s ‘tablist favorites, Vinroc (Triple Threat DJ’s / 5th Platoon).
Thanks to the folks over at Space & Sound, we should be in for quite a treat. I’m pretty hyped to see what BM’s got in store for us. It’ll be an honor to share the same stage with the audio/visual conundrum, himself. Big Isle in effect!
“Aquadust” has made its way to the top of the charts over at your favorite local College radio station, KTUH 90.3fm.
The University seems to always hold down the heat. On many occasions, even. Thank goodness for hungry adolescent ears of young sleepy-eyed students of the islands. Study in the dusty air of the Earth. And, drink more water. it solves headaches.
You may now download any and all sets of the entire night of July 31, 2009. More electronic goodness for those ears of yours. Listen to my other guilty pleasures of music…
If you ever wondered what else I do besides listen to and play hip hop, then wander aimlessly no more.
2009 continues to welcome me with open arms, ears, and minds, for the polar opposite of genres in my preference can and will display and unfold as it should, tonight. Inside the revamped ‘Xyloh’.
Artists like Yoji, Kamui, Scot Project, Dark By Design ring a bell? Probably not. Come and meet them face to face with a subwoofer, tonight. Inside the Holy X.
Bring a neck brace, just in case. Heads may nod to the death.
